Who are we?
Cause Heroes is a Canadian nonprofit that makes a positive impact on important causes through a unique fundraising platform.
What do we do?
We organize contests for the benefit of charities. In other words, we offer heroes a chance to win unique prizes and experiences, all the while raising money and awareness for charities and their causes.
What is our goal?
Our goal is simple: do our part in the advancement of social causes and offering heroes a simple way to take action for the causes they care about.
Where are we located?
Our offices are located at 1701 Hollis St Suite 800, Halifax, Nova Scotia B3J 3M8 Canada. As of Bear, he currently lives in the North Pole, but he often visits different Canadian provinces, so be on the lookout for him!
Am I eligible to enter the contests?
If you are over the age of 16 and are a legal resident of Canada (excluding Quebec), the United States or pretty much any country around the world, you are more than welcome to enter our contests! Just note that they're unavailable in countries where local laws prohibit entry into contests. Please see our Official Rules for more details about eligibility.
How can I enter a contest?
First, click the ''join contest'' button on our contests page to access the entry form. You will then have the option of entering by making a donation or by sharing the cause on social media. The more you donate, the more entries you receive. It's also possible to enter a contest without donating or sharing, but we hope you choose to support the charity - it deserves your help!
What happens after I enter a contest?
We send you a participation ticket for the contest, as well as a confirmation email for each donation you make. We will send you another email to announce the winner when the contest is over. In the meantime, we hope you continue to act as the hero you are by sharing causes on your social media and encouraging your friends and family to participate too!
How is the winner selected? And how do I know the drawing process is fair?
Each hero entering a contest receives a numbered participation ticket through email. Once the entry period has closed and every ticket number has been gathered, the winner will be selected by a random number generator software, under the supervision of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton (RCGT). Fair and square for all our heroes!
When does the drawing usually happen?
Within 10-14 business days after a contest is over.
What is the probability of winning?
The probability of winning depends on how many heroes enter a contest. Each entry represents one chance of winning, so the probability of winning the grand prize is equivalent to the number one divided by the total number of entries. If you obtain multiple entries, your chances of winning increase.
What happens if I win?
If we pick you as a winner, we will have to run a background check. Our team will contact you via email and/or phone before following up with a video call. Once that process is completed, you will be able to receive your prize and we will make an announcement to other heroes through email, our website and social media to let them know you are the lucky winner!
What do we do with the donated money?
The entirety of the net proceeds is donated to the charity associated with each contest. To ensure the money is distributed correctly, our financial statements are audited by experts at Ernst & Young Canada.
Are donations tax deductible?
Since donations are not required to enter contests and because we partner with MakeWay, a Canadian charity, all donations made through the Cause Heroes platform are not tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Charitable tax receipts will not be provided to the contestant.
Is the website secure?
Protecting your personal and payment-related information is one of our top priorities. We never see nor use your credit card information since we don't even have access to it. In addition to being guarded by Bear at all times, the Cause Heroes website automatically encrypts your confidential information by using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL).
I lost the email containing my participation ticket. What do I do?

Don't worry, we've got your back. If you've lost your ticket, contact our support team and we'll send it to you again through email. All the information regarding your participation is saved in our servers, so losing your ticket won't affect your chances of winning. If you never received your participation ticket, please check your junk and spam folders before contacting us.
I'm part of a charity and we would like to work with Cause Heroes. What should I do?
We are looking to partner up with charities that already have a great social media presence and a large community of supporters. If that sounds like yours, feel free to email us with relevant details about your organization. We'd love to hold onto your information for potential opportunities.
I'm still skeptical. Is there a way to know this is for real?
Our contests are supervised by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. Our financial statements are consolidated and verified by Ernst & Young. Our first contest is in partnership with the MakeWay, which has proven to be a committed and successful actor in the fight for a better environment. These are among the most trustworthy organizations in Canada.
